Gareth Reid is an Ulsterman based in the West End, who attended Glasgow School of Art before studying drawing at Florence Academy of Art. He has taken part in a number of group shows in Britain and abroad, notably the Drawing Open, The Royal Ulster Academy, The Royal Scottish Academy, The Hunting Art Prize and The BP Portrait Award 1998–2000.
Gareth is helping the team at Insight by providing some of his own art and choosing friends and colleagues’ work to display in the show flat at Belhaven Terrace West. He has lived in the West End throughout his career and drawn inspiration for his portraiture and the sense of humanity in his figures.
